2008 - NEW! Message from Chris
My good friend and world famous lyricist Keith Reid has put
together a compilation of songs he’s been involved in over the
years including You’re the Voice and a previously unreleased
collaboration (It Might be Your Heart) with me and keyboardist
Mark Taylor on a CD called the Keith Reid Project. You can get info on
this at his website
www.rockville-music.com/html/the_keith_reid_project.html
We wish him the very best with the project.

2008 - NEW! Message from Chris
Hi All,
It seems I’ve spent the last month, on the road. Gigs in Norway
with Mads and the boys
( well men really !) as well as 2 concerts near Tromso with Spike,
Jamie, O.J and the Simpsons. I don’t think I will ever get used
to going on at 12 midnight in daylight, be it with a twilight tinge.
Saturday 2 Aug the Guffstock Reunion in Skibotn was out door, with a
fantastic vista looking at mountains and glaciers, very surreal when
singing Show Must Go On, very beautiful indeed.
Played 3 concerts in Germany with Mads etc and after so many shows in
May, the band was really tight and rocking, which means we really had a
lot of fun.The gigs in Ulm at the tent festival and
Brønnøysund were amazing .
We’ve added Martha’s Madman and Spirits in the Night to our
set. Great fun to play.
Other than playing every weekend, I’ve been very busy looking
after Millie, our 1 year old whose favourite song is ”Oh when the
Saints go Marching in...“! She has also discovered scratching on
her Fisher Price 4 channel mixer which was found by a friend in a San
Diego charity shop!
I’m working very hard on the stage show version of Rediscovery
for the Wellington Festival in 2010 which is stretching my brain to its
limit, but I’m making headway and am very excited about it.
My friend Roy Kjærstad is reworking the educational program based
on Rediscovery that he’s put so much time into already. We did
trials in schools in Norway, Belgium and France, and have decided to
make some major changes to the initial presentation. I’m very
excited about that as well and look forward to going to the schools
again next term to get feedback on the changes.
Rob Ayling at Voiceprint UK is re- releasing most of my solo
projects. When I get the release dates and everything finalized
we’ll put the information on the web site. I’m looking
forward to writing some new songs and will have a new studio space
organized by the end of Sept, so I’ll keep my fingers crossed for
inspiration !.
Peace and keep on Rockin !!

2008 - NEW! Message from Chris
Dear All,
Once again I must apologize for the delay in posting a new message!!
I had a wonderful experience in January, singing 2 songs with Sarah
Brightman in St. Stephens Cathedral, Vienna, for a
PBS
special . The first I had recorded the previous year with
Sarah
for the new Pokemon film, called The Lost Ones. The second
was
Phantom of the Opera, which I enjoyed singing immensely. It was a bit
frightening though, as we had to sing it at the back of the Cathedral,
beside the organ pipes with a 60 foot drop directly in front of us. You
can see it on You Tube!
After a well earned holiday in New Zealand in February, I spent most of
March working on an educational program based on Rediscovery (with Roy
Kjaerstad), visiting the schools and pupils that have been working with
the first experimental version. I got great feedback from the pupils
and we are now reconstructing the program with a view to producing it
commercially. Also I’ve been continuing my quest to produce a
definitive version of the Rediscovery music CD and find a way to film a
live version of it!
I spent most of May in Norway with Mads, Steiner, Frank and Gunner,
doing our annual 3 day stint at Madam Felle’s in Bergen. Fish
joined us this year as special guest and we had 3 fantastic gigs. We
also played up and down the country, in temperatures varying from 2
degrees thru 20 degrees. We had great gigs with the band going from
strength to strength. I spent quite a bit of time rehearsing to play a
gig on my own in Switzerland which was pretty nerve wracking, but in
the end very successful.
You’re the Voice received some renewed attention in the U.S.
when
it was featured on American Idol by the eventual runner up David
Archuleta.
Right now I’m on the cruise ship Aida in the Black Sea
(Istanbul
to be precise) playing two concerts for the Allianz AG Group with
Bonnie Tyler, Howard Jones, Bobby Kimball and Katrina (Walkin on
Sunshine), really great fun and exciting.
I’m looking forward to some more concerts with Mads and the
Boys
in Germany in the middle of June,( Frankfurt 17th and Ulm 18th) and a
couple of SAS band concerts at the beginning of July.
So everything continues to roll along.
I’m going to try really hard to keep the site updated with
news and new photos etc.
Thanks for your patience.
Peace and love

October,
2007 - Message from Chris
Dear All,
I always seem to
start
my messages by apologizing for the length of
time between new messages and I guess this will be no exception. Sorry!!
War of the Worlds
visited Australia and New Zealand in September. It
was a great tour! The first two weeks for me were a whirlwind of
traveling between Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney doing concerts and a
great deal of publicity: Radio, TV, and
Newspapers /
magazines.
I traveled a lot with Jeff and really learned a
great deal about all the WOTW’s history. Fantastic, really,
to
think that the music is as vital now as when it was recorded in
1974/5/6. Herbie Flowers and Chris Spedding are among the live band
players and I really enjoy watching them all every night. Chris and I
also did a live, two-man version of "You’re the Voice" on
national breakfast TV. 8.30 in the morning singing "You’re
the
Voice”!!! It was really fun, but I had to get up at 5 am to
be
ready to sing.
My Rediscovery
project
(the never ending one!) has spawned an
educational DVD. Produced using some of the music and the thoughts and
ideas from Rediscovery, a Norwegian teacher, Roy Kjaestad has developed
a 45 minute introduction and an English teaching program which is at
the cutting edge of the new national syllabus in Norway. It will be
used in schools in Belgium and France in the New Year with our thoughts
towards producing a commercial DVD for schools 2009. If any teachers
out there require more info on this please email me at the web site. I
get everything that goes there.
New Zealand was
fantastic as my family (most of whom have never seen me
perform) were able to come to the first Auckland show. Luckily, I hit
the high D on that occasion!!! I also met with some old school friends
and of course my friends, Billy Kristian and Mike Walker among others.
Both Night albums
are at
last available on one CD available from
Renaissance Entertainment Group/PRIMA Inc.
www.cdthen.net
for those of you who have asked me over the years, and a new
compilation called, "If you Remember Me, The very Best…"
from
the same company.
I’m now
looking forward to the WOTW’s tour around
England
in a few days (December). The fan base there is remarkable with sold
out gigs everywhere. We begin in Belfast, Dec 2nd and finish
at
the O 2 center in London on the 22nd. I’m looking
forward
to catching up with everyone. So to all of you that are
coming to
the gigs, there are some great new effects and a new Richard
Burton!! I hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.
Have a great Xmas
and a
very peaceful new year, and may some of what
you wish for come true.
Be safe and keep
rocking.
Love
Chris T.
PS ...I'm very sad
to be
missing the SAS band gigs this year. I hope
everybody
has a great time
and
I'll look forward to next year....
